Campground is not very big but it is next to the beautiful beach. There are also toilets, BBQ and playground (50m from campground).

Lovely, tranquil, grassy spot that is free to camp. Roar of ocean, twittering birds and mooing cows. Drinking water, toilets, bbq, cold outdoor shower and beautiful beach about 50m away. No shade in camping area, but bbq rotunda is enclosed. Gets windy, be prepared. Can be busy with travellers during warmer months.

Toilets, BBQs. Small playground area. Cold bore water available, incl outdoor shower. Quite windy, and today wasn't really a windy day.

Look at it on the map: "where are we?". Well, if you want to experience the fabled Roaring 40s that are not at all unknown in these parts, this very basic, isolated and fully exposed campsite unashamedly delivers in aces and spades. When the winds picked up (around 60knt) after a breezy afternoon, I had to shift my car to act as a windbreak, only to have the wind shift around to the other direction with just as much force! Result: a rough night of being hammered by gales and glad to move on. Other than the need to be vigilant with the weather, this little spot has lots of potential for beachcombers, and the spectacle of huge rollers thundering toward the shore with their white manes tossed high into the air behind them is a raw display of the power of the ocean. CYCLING: I rode my MTB half of the longish distance to Mount Cameron West before turning around (worried about racing tide), to be confronted by an annoyed seal! Nobody else was present on my visit, but I do wonder if it would be congested in the popular warmer months. As usual with these small spots, first-in / best-dressed! :)
